Common questions

Everything you need to know β€” answered.

How quickly can care start?
We can usually begin care within 48 to 72 hours of your initial enquiry, and same-day cover is sometimes possible for urgent situations. We always start with a free, no-obligation home visit to agree the right plan.
Are your carers trained and DBS-checked?
Yes β€” every carer is interviewed in person, holds an enhanced DBS check, and is trained to UK Core Skills Training Framework (CSTF) standards. Specialist training (such as dementia or end-of-life care) is provided where the role requires it.
Will I have the same carer each visit?
Continuity matters, especially for dementia and complex care, so we match you with a small core team who get to know your routines and preferences. Cover from another familiar carer is provided when needed.
How much does home care cost?
Costs depend on the type, length and frequency of visits. We're transparent about pricing and provide a full quote after the home assessment β€” there's no obligation to proceed. Hourly visits, live-in care and respite are all available.
Do you work with the NHS, GPs and social services?
Yes. Where appropriate, our care plans are written in partnership with district nurses, GPs and social-care teams to make sure care is joined-up and safe.
Are you registered with the Care Quality Commission?
Yes β€” Sultan Healthcare Ltd is registered and regulated by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), England's independent regulator of health and adult social care.
Which areas do you cover?
Our Blackburn office serves Lancashire and surrounding areas; our Taunton office serves Somerset and parts of Devon. If you're unsure whether we cover your postcode, please call or send us a message.
Can I change or cancel my care plan?
Of course. Care plans are reviewed regularly with you and your family, and you can change the level, timing or type of support as your needs change.
